CCB's courses will be offered primarily in person, and by request via Zoom while the broader Austin community confronts the health challenges of COVID-19.
2021/2022
CCB's full ballet course offerings for youth and adult students return for another year of superior training. Remaining focused on the individual student, CCB's faculty helps each dancer refine technique, strengthen foundations, and learn new skills, all while maintaining our special brand of artistry.
Youth Division
Suggested Age: 3-7
Intro-to-ballet students learn rhythm, coordination, spatial awareness, and basic ballet positions. They learn simple stretches and strength building exercises that will prepare them for more formal training.
Senior Division
Class placement required
Students start with elementary combinations and work on understanding terminology, strengthening, and vocabulary. As they progress, increasingly advanced ballet technique and pointe work, when appropriate, are developed at this level.
Junior Division
Suggested Age: 8-10
Students with prior training expand on the fundamentals of classical ballet. Barre work continues during this course sequence, when students are introduced to a more rigorous class structure.
Adults
Class placement required
From absolute beginners to multi-year veterans, there are classes for all ranges of experiences. Special effort is applied to new-to-ballet teenagers, who work over time to be placed with the appropriate youth level.
